Transparent methodology

What the result includes—and what it does not

Updated SolveKit editorial review — publisher monetization QA

Built for site owners, bloggers, and ad-ops teams modelling advertising revenue from a page-view figure and a Page RPM they supply themselves.

Calculation method

  1. 1Estimated monthly ad revenue = monthly page views ÷ 1,000 × the entered Page RPM.
  2. 2Daily revenue divides the monthly estimate by 30.4375, the average number of days in a month; annual revenue multiplies the monthly estimate by twelve and holds traffic and RPM constant.
  3. 3Page views for target = target monthly revenue ÷ entered Page RPM × 1,000, rounded up to a whole page view; with a Page RPM of zero the card shows a dash instead of a number.
  4. 4The currency selector changes the symbol and number formatting only — no amount is converted between currencies.

Assumptions and limits

  • The calculator has no connection to any website, analytics account, or ad network. It cannot look up a domain, read your traffic, or supply an industry-average RPM — every figure in the result comes from the values entered in the form.
  • The RPM field must be Page RPM (estimated earnings per 1,000 page views), not an impression-based RPM or CPM. The pre-filled 8 exists only to make the form usable on load; it is not a benchmark, an average, or a recommended figure.
  • The monthly, daily, and annual outputs assume traffic and Page RPM stay flat. Real RPM moves with audience country, seasonality, device, ad placement and viewability, consent choices, advertiser demand, and invalid-traffic adjustments.
  • Nothing is deducted for hosting, content, staff, network revenue share, invalid traffic, currency conversion, payment thresholds, or tax, and the tool does not predict ad-network approval, fill rate, or click-through rate.

Worked example

100,000 monthly page views at an $8 Page RPM

Input: 100,000 monthly page views, a Page RPM of 8, a $1,000 monthly revenue target, and USD selected.

Output: $800.00 estimated monthly revenue, $26.28 daily, $9,600.00 annually, and 125,000 page views needed to reach the $1,000 target at the same RPM.

How to use it

Frequently asked questions

What is the average advertising revenue for a website?

There is no single credible figure, and this tool does not assume one. Earnings per 1,000 page views vary by topic, audience country, device, ad placement, and season, and Google's own AdSense guidance says any earnings forecast is only an estimate. Take the Page RPM from your ad network's reports rather than from a published average.

Can this check how much revenue a specific website makes?

No. It cannot look up a domain or connect to any analytics or ad account — it only multiplies out the page views and Page RPM you type in. Used on someone else's site, the result is only as accurate as your guesses about their traffic and RPM.

Where do I find my Page RPM?

In your ad network's reporting. Google AdSense defines Page RPM as (estimated earnings ÷ page views) × 1,000 and reports it directly. If your site is not monetized yet you have no RPM to read, so any value you enter is a hypothesis rather than a measurement.

What is the difference between Page RPM and CPM?

Page RPM is estimated earnings per 1,000 page views. CPM is priced per 1,000 ad impressions, and a single page view can produce several impressions. Because this calculator divides traffic by 1,000 page views, entering an impression-based figure gives a wrong result whenever a page carries more or fewer than one ad impression.

How many page views do I need to earn $1,000 a month from ads?

It depends entirely on RPM, which the tool solves as target ÷ Page RPM × 1,000. At a $5 Page RPM, $1,000 a month needs 200,000 page views; at $10 it needs 100,000. Enter your own target and your own RPM for the figure that applies to you.

Will I actually be paid the amount shown?

No — it is a scenario built from your inputs, not a forecast of a payout. Real earnings also depend on invalid-traffic deductions, your network's revenue share, currency conversion, and payment thresholds, none of which this calculator models.
